Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation, Inc.

The Santa Maria Animal Center

From Vision to Reality. With the support of the Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation and the Wendy McCaw Foundation, the Santa Maria Animal Center became operational in June, 2005. The Center aggressively promotes the No-Kill goal for adoptable and rehabilitatable animals and positions the three Santa Barbara county shelters to reach that goal in the near future. The welcoming atmosphere, ample volunteer space, grooming salon, Education Center, Animal Care Foundation Spay and Neuter Clinic, and the Wendy McCaw "Animal House" Adoption Center are just a few of the vital components of this extraordinary facility.  The Santa Maria Animal Center's Animal Care Foundation Clinic is making an active difference to reduce the number of unwanted animals in Santa Barbara County.  This countywide Spay and Neuter Center services all of the shelter dogs throughout Santa Barbara County and cats from both Santa Maria and Lompoc shelters.  The Education Center is a great venue for workshops, summer camps, trainings, meetings, and tours for community groups.

This facility is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through collaboration. The Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation, Inc. is proud to have participated in this tremendous project and looks forward to greater promotion of animal welfare in our community
